It’s not fair to assume that our Sunday was better than yours, but you’d be hard pressed to convince me otherwise. Aside from a few missed eats from excited trout sets on early morning gurglers, we couldn’t keep the fish off our flies today. Tailing schools from sun up til 2pm when we had our fill of the heat and turned the boat back north to head home.

Corey had never fly fished before. We started the day with casting lessons here at the compound and ended with a nice little schooly red to hand. Redfish action in Port O’Connor is heating up as summer settles in. Anglers are seeing consistent bites along the grassy shorelines, marsh cuts, and deeper flats, especially during early morning and late afternoon tides.
